History

CALM has produced over ten Design Showcase Homes, as our signature fund raising event since 1983. The concept of the project is to identify an interesting historic, but unimproved, home and turn it into a “Design Showcase.” The home and gardens are open to the community for one month for an admission charge which benefits the agency’s vital services. We celebrated a successful event in September of 2006 with a beautiful George Washington Smith home on the upper East Side, bringing thousands of visitors and raising over $100,000 to support CALM’s important work.

We are fortunate to have a beautiful knoll top Hacienda designed by famed architect Chester Carjola. The 4,500 square foot Riviera home is situated on a 2 acre garden of specimen oaks, bougainvillea, and graceful palms. A premier team of designers, architects, and contractors are working to produce a Showcase House with unparalleled interiors and landscapes.
